Welcome to our "Items for Everyday Use" page. These are items that may not be prepper related, but are useful nonetheless. They are items we have tried and love or items our friends and family recommend.
Note: This page will undergo frequent revision as we find better products to recommend or other products to add. Please check back frequently for the most up-to-date recommendations.

Whether shopping for yourself, a loved one, or for a baby shower gift, you will find some helpful links here. We consulted our girls to get the latest and best suggestions for the most essential, helpful, and best quality baby gear.
Our girls recommend purchasing a low-tox/no-tox diaper brand to protect baby's sensitive skin and developing system. Here are their recommendations:
Pura Disposable Diapers - For those times when you need disposables, and for those who are not going the cloth diaper route, this is a quality disposable diaper brand that won't put harsh chemicals next to baby's skin.
Esembly Cloth Diaper Bundle - Cloth diapers have come a long way since the days of folding inners and putting on plastic outers. Esembly shaped diapers are made from organic cotton. When the soft inner layer is combined with the waterproof outer cover, these diapers prevent blow-outs better than disposables. Each size has multiple snaps to adjust the fit for your baby. While this link is for a starter kit in a size 1, their diapers come in various sizes and have a variety of covers with cute designs. These are eco-friendly and safe for baby's sensitive skin. By the way, cloth diapers are also prepper friendly!
Miss Mouth's Stain Remover - This stain remover is a safer choice for use on baby's diaper and clothing. We all know how easy it is for baby and children to stain their clothing. This stain remover is a great help on laundry day.
Honest Wipes - Hypoallergenic, fragrance free, dermatologist tested, and recognized with the National Eczema seal of acceptance, which means you can trust that this product is safe and suitable for people with sensitive skin. These aren't just for baby - they are great for a quick clean-up for almost any situation.

Woolino Sleep Sack - Wool helps to regulate temperature and will keep you warm even when wet. That is part of what makes this sleep sack superior to others. The soft merino wool interior helps to regulate baby's temperature, making this the perfect four-season sleep sack. It is also designed to grow with your baby. One sack fits sizes 2 - 24 months, meaning it will last from babyhood to the toddler years.
Nose Frida - This nasal aspirator was a top pick among our girls and their friends. Whether baby catches a cold or is teething, mothers of babies will eventually have a need for one of these.

Some of these kitchen recommendations don't fit the "recommended preps" or "emergency preps" categories due to the electronic component that will require a generator in a "grid down" scenario. Some are simply great every-day use items. Check here for suggestions whenever you need to replace an appliance or when you need ideas for wedding gifts, etc.
Ninja Immersion Blender/Hand Mixer - We just got one of these to replace both our immersion blender (whose gear for the whisk had stripped) and our hand mixer (whose cord wore through to the wire). Because it replaces both, it takes less space in our kitchen and I love that this is a two-in-one. I cannot say enough about how fantastic this has been!
Presto Digital Pressure Canner - There are several features about an electric canner that are impressive. First, it self-regulates the pressure - no need to constantly adjust the burner temperature to keep the pressure steady. This in itself makes it an attractive idea. Second, it is easy to use and walks you through each step - from sanitizing the jars to removing the jars after the pressure has gone down. Third, it doubles as a pressure canner and water bath canner. If you are looking for an easy solution to pressure canning, this may be a great option for you.
Kitchen-Aid Mixer - We had an old Kitchen-Aid Mixer we got at a thrift store that finally gave out. These mixers have a good reputation for being reliable and lasting for a long time. They make a great gift for yourself, for a bridal shower, or for any special day. We recommend watching for their sales when planning to purchase.
